A couple of things that we think are really important to incorporate into your life are exercise and nature. Exercise in nature is even better. Exercise is good for every part of you. There’s strong science supporting that assertion. And being in nature is very valuable for you, too. There’s even some good scientific evidence for that, as well. So, here are some tips to make it easy to incorporate these things into your life.
Walk Your Pet
You may not enjoy walking (at first anyway) but your pet will. Walk your dog. Even cats can be trained to walk on a leash. Don’t have a pet? Then get one, a rescue animal preferably, which is a giant karmic good deed.
Take Up Nature Photography
This is a sure way to get you outside. If you don’t like walking for the sake of walking, then walk to get the perfect photo—of a sunrise or a mushroom or a patch of moss. Photograph the sky or the weather or people you see outdoors. You don’t require an expensive camera to do this. You can take fabulous photos with your cell phone.
Find an Outdoor Partner
It’s much harder to say no to going out if there’s another person depending on you. Enlist a friend or relative or put an ad on Craigslist in the community section.
Make This Part of Your Routine
The more you go out, the more you will want to go out. Put it on your schedule that you’ll be walking (or photographing) at a certain time every day or every other day or every Saturday.
Bring Nature Inside Your House
If you absolutely, positively, can’t will yourself to go out regularly, then collect plants. Every major city has horticultural clubs that you be a member of. It’s possible to grow astonishing things inside your house. Specialize in a certain type of plants like succulents or African violets. Indoor plants will give you peace and comfort inside your house—and they will also filter your air and give you fresh oxygen. Joining a club like this will also expand your circle of acquaintances and open up your mind to learning new things.
